Br. Patrick Winbush professed solemn vows of obedience,
stability, and conversion of manners, committing himself to the
monastic life at Newark Abbey for life. He did so in front of
Abbot Melvin and the community of monks, as well as a church
filled with family members and friends. Abbot
Melvin's homily from Mass.
Cardinal Francis Arinze, who has been a friend
of Newark Abbey for some time now, and has made numerous visits
here, presided during the three days of the Triduum. The Tuesday
after Easter he gave a talk on the eucharist.

Cardinal Francis Arinze presides, with Fr. Philip
Waters, O.S.B., pastor of St. Mary's Church.
The monks have instituted the practice of Eucharistic
Adoration for one hour before the start of morning office.
Adoration begins at 5:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday, 5:30 a.m.
on Saturdays, and 6:00 a.m. on Sundays. Everyone is welcome to
join us. Knock on the church door and you will be let in.
